ESP As de bronce de Teodosio I, acuñado a finales del s. IV en la ceca de Cícico, en la actual Turquía. En el anverso se observa el busto de emperador mirando a derecha con armadura y diadema. En la leyenda se lee DN THEODO-SIVS PF AVG. En el reverso se representa nuevamente al emperador de pie mirando a derecha sujentando un estandarte (“labarum”) y un orbe. En la leyenda dle reverso se lee: GLORIA-ROMANORVM y en el exergo: SMKΓ, la marca de la ceca.

ENG Bronze ace of Theodosius I was minted in the late 4th century at the Cicicus mint in present-day Turkey. The obverse shows the bust of the emperor facing right, wearing armor and a wreath. The legend reads DN THEODO-SIVS PF AVG. The reverse again depicts the emperor standing facing right holding a standard (‘labarum’) and an orb. The reverse legend reads GLORIA-ROMANORVM and the exergue: SMKΓ, the mintmark.
